Dr. Huong D. N. Nguyen is an English instructor for University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi where she has been actively involved in the language teaching and learning processes as well as teachers’ training for many years. Huong holds a Doctor degree in Linguistics from The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi and before that, a Master degree in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from Macquarie University, Australia. She has been teaching English to a wide variety of students in many different settings, and has also been a coordinator for programs initiated and operated by the American Embassy and Australian Alumni Grant Fund. Her research focus is on linguistics and teaching pedagogy in general as well as phonological features of Vietnamese speakers of English in particular. Recently, she has co-authored several teaching series including teaching English to hearing-impaired kids, and has given plenaries and workshops in different universities about using some software in teaching pronunciation for students as well as education innovation and leadership. She is also an ambassador for innovation and leadership in Vietnam Ireland Bilateral Education Exchange program after her Professional Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Leadership with UCD in 2020 and is teaching Creativity and Entrepreneurial mindset for students.
